What is Parent Coaching?

Parent coaching is a process in which a coach and parent come together to understand a family's current needs and set goals for positive change.

In order to achieve this, a coach uses research-backed tools, skills and information as a way of working towards solutions for the family. Jessica problem-solves based on individual experiences a child and family face. Coaching differs from traditional therapy in that coaching primarily focuses on developing parenting skills and strategies for current situations. Therapy typically delves deeper into a person's past experiences and underlying emotional issues. While both parent coaching and therapy can support parents, the key difference is coaches move forward with goals while therapists typically explore a patient’s history.

Jessica really listened to me. That’s what stands out the most about my conversations with her. I felt seen in my parenting challenges and she made very practical suggestions.
